Only Donald J. Trump, 47th (and 45th) president of the United States of America, had the cajónes to give the White House its first major renovation in the last 83 years! Given his background in the construction and development industries, it's no wonder he was able to pull this one off and without much notice.

The renovation kicked off with the demolition of the East Wing seemingly overnight and left some citizens angered and upset. A Virginia couple went as far as suing the Trump Administration stating that the project had commenced without the proper approvals or reviews. Other groups have also expressed concern over a lack of transparency and thorough review of the project.

Once the demolition of the East Wing is completed, construction of the White House State Ballroom will begin. The ballroom addition will cover approximately 90,000 total square feet and will have the capacity to seat approximately 650 people. The Trump Administration has taken steps to protect historical items and insists that once completed, this project will reflect the glory of our country!

The project is expected to be completed before the end of Trump's term.
